Enea Paluzzi pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Sicily Mafia, despite Paluzzi's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Iceland Aurora at Mussolini Municipal Park. The loss drops Sicily to 0-3.

Iceland used the timely hitting of Huibert van Duren to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aurora on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Good teams find a way to win close games," van Duren said.
