The Mobile Monsters beat the Iceland Aurora, 7-6, in part because of first baseman Owen Bond. He was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Picking up the win was Omar Cespedes. He went 7 innings, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits. The left--hander struck out 0 and walked 2. Kyle Cunningham picked up the save for Mobile, his 3rd of the year.

Mobile catcher Aaron Handley contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 5th hit of the season and put the Monsters ahead, 7-2.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Mobile manager Dan Danielson.

Iceland is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
