Starting pitcher Adam Scali was a major factor in the 6-1 Los Angeles Stars triumph over the Sicily Mafia. With the win, Los Angeles upped its record to 16-15.

The Stars got a big at-bat from center fielder Armando Llanes. For the game, Llanes went 1-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-1 lead.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Scali told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
