Starting pitcher Mark Lapointe took care of business, helping the Newfoundland Labradors stifle the Paris Lions, 3-2. Edwin Sanchez picked up his 1st save of the season. With the victory, the Labradors upped their record to 13-13.

Newfoundland right fielder Robby Fritz contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the Labradors ahead, 3-2.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Paris manager Dan Danielson.
