99ers Even Record with 10-4 Victory
|
The Tokyo 99ers grabbed a win, 10-4, over the Sedna Supernovas at Ballpark of Tokyo. Tokyo designated hitter Ricky Valenzuela was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Henry Fisher, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Tokyo has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Adam Thuan had a big 3-run home run for the 99ers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Tokyo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a sinker from Taylor Shannon, who is tied for 9th in the SBL1 in quality starts with 3, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the 99ers on top, 5-1.
"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Valenzuela.
