Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Sicily Mafia and Providence Anglers.
The Sicily Mafia defeated the Providence Anglers, 5-4. Doing his part was left fielder Karl Gallizio, who was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Enea Paluzzi earned the save for Sicily, his 3rd of the year.
Sicily center fielder Valentin Covi contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a slider to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 44th hit of the season and put the Mafia ahead, 4-2.
Sicily manager Dan Danielson commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The loss makes Providence 19-17.
