Down to Defeat Goes Newfoundland, 6-3
Eddie Johnson propelled his team to victory over the Newfoundland Labradors. The final score was 6-3, New York. The Skyliners, now 3-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Mike O'Shea drove in one run for New York. The six-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Lazar Telacevic. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Johnson, "and today was a good one for us."
