Not everyone stuck through the 45-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Newfoundland Labradors picked up a win at Newfoundland Stadium, knocking off the Lisbon Seafarers, 5-0. On the mound for Newfoundland was right-hander Mark Lapointe. He played a key role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Lapointe surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed no runs.

Arso Nusic hit a run-scoring triple off Aaron Williams in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Labradors in front, 1-0. Nusic had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Nusic.

Newfoundland is 15-16 and Lisbon, with the loss, 16-15.
