Lions Win, Spilling Bears, 6-3
|
The Paris Lions knocked off the Berlin Bears, 6-3, in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Bears Fields. Paris pitcher and Ferrara, Italy, native Yvain Vecchio had an outstanding performance. Paris is now 14-19, Berlin 8-25.
Paris used a well-timed hit by Franklin Wouters to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Lions ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Hustle and hard work is a big part of our success," said Vecchio. "Those qualities define our team."
