Monsters Nudge Past Lions, 6-5
|
The Paris Lions got a superb performance from designated hitter Roger Walter, but the Mobile Monsters still won the game, 6-5. Walter went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Wei-qian Le earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Mobile, at 25-20, is 2 games up in the West Division.
Mobile got a knockout punch from Byron Ward. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This place sure got loud," said Dan Danielson, the Mobile manager.
