Aurora Sunk by Lions
|
Lions first baseman Jon Bertelson left his imprint on his team's 7-3 win over the Iceland Aurora. Bertelson was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Paris in the contest. Getting the save was Yvain Vecchio, his 1st. By defeating Iceland, the third-place Lions improved to 22-24.
With Paris trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Bertelson hit a 2-run single off Iceland hurler Juan Flores. It was the 57th hit of the season for Bertelson and put his team ahead, 3-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bertelson said.
