The Los Angeles Stars earned a close win over the Providence Anglers, thanks in part to Khalil Smith. The Los Angeles right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Rich Lutz got credit for the save for Los Angeles. It was his 1st of the year. Providence drops to 3-1.

Ray Feltz had a direct impact on the outcome. Feltz contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Los Angeles up, 2-0.
