Purkis Helps Iceland Cruise to 10-3 Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Mobile Monsters and Iceland Aurora get after it.

Bill Purkis, who finished 2nd in the TOBA in doubles with 23 last year, led Iceland to a triumph over Mobile. The final score was 10-3. The second baseman went 3 for 3, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 4 runs and added 1 RBI. With the win over Mobile, the Aurora improved to 27-22.

Iceland third baseman Huibert van Duren delivered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. Overall, he went 3 for 5, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 4.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Purkis.
