Paris Absorbs 9-2 Loss to New York
|
The New York Skyliners defeated the Paris Lions, 9-2, at Skyliners Stadium. Leading the charge for New York was shortstop Craig Amery. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bobby Stamper picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-7. He struck out 4 in 7 innings. New York has won 3 straight, while Paris has lost 3 in a row.
New York designated hitter Kai Coles contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 41st hit of the season and put the Skyliners ahead, 3-1.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New York manager Dan Danielson.
