Seafarers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Mafia
|
Lisbon and Sicily duked it out and the Seafarers came out victorious.
The Lisbon Seafarers defeated the Sicily Mafia, 5-3, in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Mussolini Municipal Park. Lisbon pitcher Griff Murphy had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Roland Rolland. He is now 3-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings.
Yukio Kotani provided a timely hit. The Lisbon center fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the tenth inning to put the Seafarers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Lisbon manager Dan Danielson commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
After today's action, Lisbon sits at 28-22, while Sicily falls to 25-25.
