The 10-8 Mobile win over Iceland was due in large part to Steven Wright. The Monsters second baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Scott Bradburn got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 6.2 innings. The Monsters lead the West Division by 5 games.

Jamie McIntyre had a big 3-run home run for the Monsters in the top of the first inning. With Mobile leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Ken Roberts, who leads the TOBA in quality starts with 11, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Monsters on top, 6-0.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Monsters manager Dan Danielson, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
