Skyliners Get Gritty, 4-3 Win
|
The New York Skyliners beat the Sicily Mafia, 4-3, in part because of designated hitter Kai Coles. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. New York reliever Jean Poisson picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Enea Paluzzi was tagged with the loss. The Skyliners, now 4-2, have been playing some good baseball.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With one out, Coles hit a fastball from Enea Paluzzi for a solo home run. The Skyliners, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
When asked about his performance after the game, Coles said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
