Lions Defeated by Seafarers, 5-3
|
Paris third baseman Israel Trujillo was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Lisbon beat the Lions, 5-3. Aaron Williams got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Lions to 2 runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Jay Green recorded his 2nd save for Lisbon.
Chris Weide, who is a two-time All-Star, helped out the Lisbon cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a double.
"That's what this team is about," said Weide, "picking each other up."
The Seafarers bumped their record to 30-23 with this latest triumph.
