Seafarers Win, 6-3, Versus Paris
|
The Lisbon Seafarers downed the Paris Lions, 6-3, at Paris Municipal Park. Roger Guillet led the way, going 3-for-5 for Lisbon. Griff Murphy, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-2. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. With the win, the Seafarers sit at 31-23.
Had Yukio Kotani not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Kotani hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Seafarers.
"The name on the front of this uniform is all that matters to me," Kotani told the Lisbon Times. "And padding the Lisbon win column."
