Seafarers Drop Anglers, 5-3
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Pond.
Lisbon starter Aaron Williams pitched well against the Providence Anglers at The Pond. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3, in 10 innings. The win belonged to William Raynal in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Maurice Duchemin took the loss for Providence.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Yukio Kotani? The six-time All-Star Kotani stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Lisbon up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Kotani.
The victory gives the Seafarers a record of 24-20.
