Providence registered a win at The Pond by beating the Sicily Mafia, 5-3. Pitcher Mounir Soulier was one reason why the Anglers triumphed. Juan Rodriguez nailed down his 8th save. With the victory, the Anglers upped their record to 31-26.

The Anglers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Eric Chambers. For the game, Chambers was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Providence a 2-0 lead.

Providence manager Dan Danielson said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
