Providence Defeated By Skyliners, 8-2

The New York Skyliners beat the Providence Anglers, 8-2, at Skyliners Stadium. The win was due in part to catcher Bobby Acevez, who was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Matt Heydt got the win, improving to 7-7. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Juan Flores earned the save, his 5th, for the Skyliners.
With New York leading 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Acevez hit a fastball from Ruben Guerrero for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Skyliners ahead, 8-2.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Dan Danielson.
New York has now won 3 in a row.
