The Providence Anglers got a stellar effort from pitcher Seon-jong Kim, helping Providence score a win over the visiting Iceland Aurora, 2-1. Maurice Duchemin earned his 13th save, after closing out the game. Providence has run its win streak to 4 straight.
Providence right fielder Mashiro Oda contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Anglers ahead, 2-0.
"We have a lot of confidence in Seon-jong," said Providence manager Dan Danielson.
