Labradors Earn 6-1 Home Win
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Newfoundland fans at Newfoundland Stadium.
The Newfoundland Labradors picked up a win at Newfoundland Stadium, topping the Los Angeles Stars, 6-1. On the mound for Newfoundland was right-hander Josh Harmon. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Harmon, now 6-6. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 6.
In the top of the sixth, the Labradors found themselves in a jam. Los Angeles had runners on 1st and 2nd. Brian Kennedy was at the plate, hoping to deal the Labradors a serious blow. Instead, he hit a single to end the threat.
The Stars, now 21-29, have lost 4 in a row.
