Anglers Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
Starting pitcher Carl Lendon fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Providence Anglers stymie the Sicily Mafia, 2-1. Lendon got the win, improving to 4-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Providence pushed its record to 27-24.
Jesse Morgan was the walk-off hero for Providence. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Anglers catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Lendon.
