Narrow Win Takes Providence Streak to 7
|
Providence Anglers starter Seon-jong Kim pitched a strong game against the Lisbon Seafarers at Seafarers Stadium, leading the Anglers to victory, 5-4. Kim, who is tied for 6th in the TOBA in complete games with 3, went the distance for Providence. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. Providence has 7 straight wins, Lisbon 3 straight losses.
Providence used the timely hitting of Kei Kamiya to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Anglers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The guys are feeling pretty good about where they're at right now," said Anglers manager Dan Danielson. "We have a lot of guys playing with confidence."
