Monsters Suffer 6-1 Road Loss
|
The Paris Lions picked up a win at Paris Municipal Park, taking down the Mobile Monsters, 6-1. Starting pitcher Iiro Mikkola was a big reason why. William Kelly wrapped it up, recording his 7th save. The losing streak for Mobile has now reached 4 games.
The Lions got a big at-bat from designated hitter Lance Looij. For the game, Looij belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Paris a 2-0 lead.
Said losing manager Dan Danielson: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
