Skyliners Suffer 7-4 Home Defeat
|
Led by Sal Mojica, the Paris Lions defeated the New York Skyliners, 7-4. Mojica went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Lions. Teruo Noda got the win, improving to 9-6. He held the Skyliners to 4 runs on 5 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. William Kelly was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.
Mojica had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-1 splitter from Chris Ellis, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Lions a 7-4 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Mojica.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Mojica.
Paris goes to 31-38, New York to 40-29.
