Sicily Nets 5-4 Win Versus Seafarers
|
The Sicily Mafia dealt the Lisbon Seafarers a 5-4 loss at Seafarers Stadium. Valentin Covi was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. After today's action, Sicily sits at 32-38; Lisbon slips to 40-30.
Had Covi not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Covi hit a run-scoring single. The Mafia took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
Sicily manager Dan Danielson commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
