Despite a great performance by Paris third baseman Harry Cook, the Iceland Aurora defeated the Lions by the score of 7-6 at Paris Municipal Park. Cook went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2. Tim Siragusa recorded his 9th save for Iceland. The win elevated the Aurora to 37-34.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Huibert van Duren came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Paris pitcher William Kelly, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Iceland on top, 7-6.

"Nice win for us," said van Duren. "Now we'll go after the next one."
