Behind Ulrych, Rijeka Blanks Maribor, 8-0
|
Gideon Ulrych was in a mood to talk following the Rijeka Sailors contest against the Maribor Rivermen, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Rivermen, 8-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Ulrych said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The left-hander blanked Maribor on a 5-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 8 strikeouts.
So far this season, Ulrych has a 3-4 record, 8 starts, 61.1 innings, 44 strikeouts and a 3.52 ERA.
