The Mobile Monsters topped the Sicily Mafia, 6-1, in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Mobile Park. The standout performance belonged to Mobile pitcher and Memphis, Tennessee, native Jim Harrold. By defeating Sicily, the last-place Monsters improved to 32-41.

Mobile took a 3-0 lead on Gheorghe Margaritescu's 7th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Margaritescu hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Sicily pitcher Renaud Goffi visibly frustrated.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Margaritescu told a Mobile News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
