Srskic, on Top of His Game, Beats Sarajevo, 1-0
|
In an outstanding mound performance, Belgrade Belters starter Niko Srskic fired a complete-game shutout against the Sarajevo Silver Knights at Silver Knights Park.
Srskic was the key to the 1-0 Belgrade win. The 25-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 5 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"5 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
So far this year, Srskic has made 11 starts, tossed 77.1 innings, struck out 53 batters and walked 25. His record is 3-6 with a 2.79 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .279 batting average.
