In a tight tilt between the Paris Lions and the Providence Anglers, Teruo Noda was the difference-maker. The Paris left-hander excelled in his team's 2-1 win in 10 innings. Paris reliever William Kelly was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Maurice Duchemin. Today's win puts Paris at 33-45, while Providence falls to 41-37.
Paris used the timely hitting of Jan Danielsson to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Lions on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Lions manager Dan Danielson.
