The Io Isotopes and Tokyo 99ers obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Starting pitcher Andrew Murtland pitched well enough to help the Io Isotopes beat the Tokyo 99ers, 6-5. Io reliever Pablo Ramos was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Ben Dawson took the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Hector Lopez in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ben Dawson to win the game for Io. The home crowd went nuts.

Murtland said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The win elevated the Isotopes to 37-25.
