Tokyo left fielder Pakelika Kakana had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Kakana hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice, even as Io beat the 99ers, 10-6. Io pitcher Gebre-Egziabhear Nnamdi got the win, upping his record to 7-5. Kanai Dufu got the loss. Io raised its record to 38-25 with the win.

Marcus Oake, who is tied for 7th in the SBL1 in stolen bases with 18, helped out the Io cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Io skipper Alphonso Winters.
