Aono Helps Mobile Cruise to 11-3 Win
The performance of Katsumi Aono proved critical in helping Mobile beat Iceland, 11-3. The Monsters second baseman was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Sean White, the winning pitcher, is now 7-5. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 8 and walking 0. With the victory, the Monsters upped their record to 36-28.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Aono hit a 3-run home run off Jessy Kok. It propelled the Monsters into the lead, 5-2.

In comments to the Mobile Bulletin, Aono admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
