Dark Knights Need Extra Innings to Top 99ers, 5-3
|
Ballpark of Tokyo was the site of a competitive game between the Tokyo 99ers and Lunar Dark Knights.
The Lunar Dark Knights took Henry Fisher's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Ballpark of Tokyo. The final score had Lunar getting past the 99ers, 5-3, in 11 innings. Fisher over 9 innings allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7. Chris Pittman picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-2. Rob Zunica was tagged with the loss.
Lunar used a timely hit from Seon-jong Ko to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Dark Knights ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Tokyo manager .
The victory puts Lunar at 26-40.
