Wildcard Playoff Game 1 Victory for Moore and Iceland
The Wildcard Playoff got off to a quiet start, with the host Iceland Aurora taking a low-scoring, 1-0 win over the Paris Lions. Iceland right-hander Ewan Moore was marvelous at Aurora Field. The Aurora now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-3 series.

Moore, a native of Plymouth, England, was dealing all game. He kept Paris hitters off-balance, while giving the Aurora 9 quality innings. Moore threw 110 pitches, allowing 7 hits and striking out 4.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Iceland manager Dan Danielson.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thursday, August 16th , 1956.
