Aurora Beat New York, 2-1
The New York Skyliners wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Eddie Johnson, falling, 2-1, to the Iceland Aurora at Aurora Field. Omar Cespedes picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Ken Roberts suffered the loss. The Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association East Division-leading Aurora have a record of 43-27.

The Aurora were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 29-year old third baseman Bill Purkis landed a big blow. He turned a first pitch curveball from Ken Roberts into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Aurora Field denizens into a frenzy and sent the Aurora home with a thrilling 2-1 win.

"We busted our tails," said New York manager Dan Danielson. "But we came up short."
