Isotopes Oake Sizzles with Cycle
Marcus Oake did everything he could for the Io Isotopes -- literally.

The 25-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Isotopes, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Seoul Suns, 7-5, at Isotope Arena.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Oake reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Oake banged out 4 hits in 4 at-bats and totaled 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Marcus Oake doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Cook in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

In his season totals, Oake has 4 home runs, .274 BA, .306 OBP, 21 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has played in 50 games.
