In the 7-6 Keiper win over Mars, the impact of Zaki Shinuni was substantial. Shinuni was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Hyuk Ji picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Makanamaikai Karribi suffered the loss. Keiper, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Keiper trailing 6-4, Shinuni jumped on a cutter from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Makanamaikai Karribi and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Krakens had a walk-off win.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Shinuni said.
