Shao Powers Anglers to 8-5 Win
The Providence Anglers powered past the Mobile Monsters, 8-5, at Mobile Park. Wei-hong Shao provided some of the pop. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Juan Rodriguez got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Maurice Duchemin closed it out for Providence, earning his 2nd save.

With the game in the balance, help came for the Anglers from the most obvious of places: Their star first baseman Shao, the 25-year old first baseman . With two out in the top of the eighth, Shao delivered a 2-run home run, making the score 7-5, Providence. It was the 3rd home run of the season for Shao.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Shao told the Providence Chronicle.
