Skyliners Capture Close Win
|
The New York Skyliners beat the Berlin Bears, 3-2, in 10 innings. New York pitcher and Bethlehem, New York, native Matt Heydt led the way. New York reliever Ken Roberts picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Zeleny Masata absorbed the loss. New York, at 51-31, is 3 games up in the Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association West Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when New York third baseman Joe Brewer, facing Zeleny Masata, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Skyliners the 3-2 win.
"When Matt's on, he's on," said New York manager Dan Danielson.
