The Los Angeles Stars went home winners at Stars Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Chris Walker. Walker stifled the Sicily Mafia, enabling Los Angeles to grab the 3-1 win. Walker got the win, improving to 1-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Los Angeles is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 3rd win in 12 games.

The Mafia had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Stars going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 1952 TOBA batting champion Josh Lewis came to the plate. Lewis hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch cutter from Sicily hurler Pippo Ammanati. It was Lewis's 4th double of the year.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Los Angeles manager Dan Danielson. "That's what Chris is right now."
