The Iceland Aurora got a stellar effort from pitcher Ken Roberts, helping Iceland score a win over the visiting Providence Anglers, 5-2. The Anglers fall to 5-7 and continue their lackluster start to the 1953 season.

Center Fielder Alain Viard made an impact for Iceland, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Danny Arellano in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Viard went 1-3 with a double.

Viard told a Iceland Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
