Mobile got a valiant performance from pitcher Carl Lendon, but it wasn't enough to beat the Iceland Aurora. Iceland won the game, 5-2. Lendon threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The Monsters fall to 5-8 and continue their lackluster start to the 1955 season.

Iceland used the timely hitting of Serge Migin to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aurora on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Iceland manager Dan Danielson.
