Newfoundland Labradors starter Lazar Telacevic turned in a sparkling performance against the Los Angeles Stars, leading his team to a 2-1 win. In 8 innings, Telacevic surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Mark Lapointe closed the game out for Newfoundland, earning his 3rd save.

Robby Fritz took Los Angeles hurler Brandon Lanning deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Labradors on top, 2-0. In all, Fritz had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Telacevic. "But I have better dreams after a win."
