The Providence Anglers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Seon-jong Kim, who kept Sicily hitters in check en route to a 3-0 Anglers win at The Pond. The winning pitcher was Kim, now 2-0. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. The Mafia fall to 6-9.
The Anglers benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the seventh. With Wei-hong Shao at bat and Providence leading 1-0, the Sicily miscue allowed Providence to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"I was trying to do what I do, go out there and compete," said Kim.
