The Iceland Aurora got a good effort from starter Eitan Löbel in defeating the Newfoundland Labradors at Newfoundland Stadium. The final score was 13-1. Löbel, now 3-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Newfoundland now is 6-7.

Iceland second baseman Ray Feltz contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Aurora ahead, 5-1.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Newfoundland manager Dan Danielson.
