Stars Rally to Win
The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Mobile Monsters, 9-8, in 13 innings in Trans-Oceanic Baseball Association action at Stars Stadium. Los Angeles pitcher Steve Coffey had a standout performance. Raul Ropotan, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The victory gives Los Angeles a record of 13-5.

The Stars got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Cooley French. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Stars.

"The fans went nuts at the end," French said.
